WellTrust Newsletter Summer 2009

|
Message from CEO Murray TrenberthHi folks and welcome to our very first E-newsletter! 2009 has been a year of quality gains and great progress has been made towards proving we meet the national Alcohol & Drug Sector Standards. We are being audited against these standards early in the new year, and plan to celebrate our successful completion of ten years of service to youth in the greater Wellington region. I congratulate the website committee for getting our new website up and running, generating a huge number of visits and downloads; and now this - our inaugural E-newsletter! |

 | Lets CookThumbs up for the course from Sam! Senior WellTrust counsellor Megan O'Sullivan recently served up something a bit different for some of the young people she helps when she organised a cooking programme at Hutt Valley High School. These were teenagers who had experienced some difficulties in life, and whom Megan felt would benefit by engaging in a non-drug using activity. It was also a chance for Megan to connect with them in a different setting, as they learnt some positive life skills. "Let's Cook" was held with the help of cooking teacher Mrs Bala Thompson who provided the young people with an opportunity to learn skills in preparing and cooking meals, as well as giving them a basic understanding in food and nutrition. WellTrust would like to thank Hutt Mana Charitable Trust and Hutt Valley High School for their support. |
