Standard Drinks (STDs)

This is how we compare how much we have drunk, or how much alcohol is in each bottle or can. One STD is 10g (about 10mls) of pure alcohol. It is also how much alcohol an average sized adult body can process in one hour.

How much is it safe to drink?

Scientists say that 4 STDs a night is the maximum amount for a mature woman, and for men this is 6 STDs in one drinking session. However,
For teenagers under age 18, NO amount is safe. ie. nil, none, zero, zilch...

How much did you drink the times you got drunk? Try to work it out from the chart above. Or go to the ALAC website

Remember, if you are under 18, no amount is safe. For adults, 6 STDs a night is enough for males and for females this is 4 STDs.
